Posh Nanny Ad On Web - April 4, 2005 - The Sun

DAVID Beckham was left holding the baby yesterday — as he and wife Victoria desperately hunt on the internet for a new nanny.

The England captain, 29, gently cradled little Cruz on the month-old tot’s first public outing.

But Becks may not have to be hands-on for long. He and Victoria have been swamped by hundreds of applicants for the £500-a-week post after their last nanny Abigail Gibson quit in an alleged row with Posh last week.

Yesterday, the pair took Cruz to meet his great grandad Joe — Becks’ grandpa — for the first time as four generations of the family celebrated Joe’s birthday at a posh restaurant.

Their other sons Brooklyn and Romeo were also treated to lunch at swanky West London eaterie Cipriani, along with Becks’ mum Sandra and his grandma Peggy.

After the meal, David beamed as he left holding his tiny son, who was wrapped in a white blanket.

The proud dad also put a hand on six-year-old Brooklyn’s shoulder to steer him to a waiting car.

Posh, 30, went in front with Romeo, two. She wore a tight black dress, proving she had already regained her slimline figure after her pregnancy.

The former Spice Girl is reported to have had a furious bust-up with former nanny Abigail, which led the £30,000-a-year childminder to quit in tears over the phone.

Posh had phoned her in a fury after Abigail was seen chatting to Victoria’s ex-beautician Dannielle Heath, 23, who once claimed to have had a sex romp with David.

The couple are so desperate to replace Abigail they took on an agency, which put an advert on the website www.nannyjob.co.uk.

The on-line description reads: “Very high profile celebrity family require professional nanny for three boys.

“Nanny must be very flexible and willing to travel — mostly to Spain.

“Confidentiality and discretion is a must with this position. Nanny must have a minimum of five years experience.”

Last night qualified nanny Simonne Levy, 18, said: “I was amazed when I saw the advert.

“It doesn’t actually say it’s for the Beckhams but you don’t have to be a brain surgeon to work it out.

“There aren’t too many high-profile celebrity couples living between the UK and Spain who have three sons.”

Within hours of the ad being posted, hundreds of nannies had logged on and were talking about the job in the website’s chatroom.

Simonne said: “This has got to be one of the best nannying jobs in the world.

“I’m sure it will be hard work looking after three young boys but it would be an unbelievable experience.

“Most of us dream of becoming a celebrity nanny. It’s the nearest we’ll ever get to fame — and they don’t come any bigger than Posh and Becks.”

Since blonde Abigail resigned, the Beckhams have had to rely on their families for help looking after their sons.

An insider said: “Abigail’s decision to quit came as a major shock. She was a loyal member of the Beckhams’ trusted inner circle.

“Abigail adored Brooklyn and Romeo and she played a major role in their lives.

“It is going to be very difficult to replace her.”

Abigail, who is in her mid-20s, has refused to talk about the alleged row. She has moved back with her family in Hemel Hempstead, Herts.
