Victoria's Secret Yahoo Diary, 2003-2004
Monday 24th November
Flew back from Madrid in the morning, then it was straight into London in the
afternoon for a casting at the Pineapple Studio in Covent Garden. I'm looking
for 8 dancers for my new video. Luckily being a dancer myself I know exactly
what I want - they need to be great dancers with a good look and basically very
cool! I'm looking for a something a little different with lots of edge, not
so formulaic.
Tuesday 25th November
A rare day at home - but it's still a busy day, with hair and nails and a hat
fitting. Thursday is David's big day at Buckingham Palace and planning ahead
means everything will go smoothly when it needs to.
Wednesday 26th November
To the BBC TV Centre in White City for an interview with the newly revamped
Top of the Pops. Next Friday they'll be showing both the videos to my double
A-side single. Both singles are being released and we're having a bit of fun
and giving the viewers the change to vote on which track they like the best.
It's a great idea and it will be interesting to see what my fans think! Later
on, there's a final fitting for the outfit I'm going to wear tomorrow when David
collects his OBE - Dolce & Gabanna couture. Absolutely gorgeous, and David
won't look too bad either!
Thursday 27th November
The Big Day. I'm so proud of David, as were his grandparents who were there
with us! I did wonder though, why does the Queen carry a handbag in her own
house? What on earth does she keep in it? (Patent leather and it did match perfectly
with lilac dress!) After the ceremony we all go for a family lunch to celebrate.
We were all there, the boys and both mine and David's families too. Then after
lunch it's straight on to being interviewed on the Parkinson show. It was so
lovely that David was in the country so he could come with me. Michael's interviewed
me a few times now, it's always great being interviewed by him. He has a certain
style and will ask controversial question that people really want to hear -
and I like that.
Friday 28th November
Up at 5.30 to start filming the two videos directed by Andy Hylton and Scott
Lyon. David has more of a lie in before having to catch a plane back to Madrid.
Our life at the moment is such a whirlwind. Nothing's ever routine, and to be
honest with me it's always been like that and we wouldn't want it any other
way.
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November
Filming all day on both days. We have to be ready to shoot, hair and make-up
done and on set by 7am and wrap each night between ten and ten thirty. Video
shoots tend to be very long but I always enjoy them. All my family came to see
me on set, it's nice to have their support.
Monday 1st December
From noon to seven is taken up with dance rehearsals for all the TV promotional
things I'll be doing - and it'll be the same tomorrow. Even when I'm not dancing
myself, I like being involved. There was so much to do on this day, learn the
routine and everyone got their clothes fitted for the performances. My workload
has gone from one extreme to the other in the last couple of weeks, I've got
a really busy week coming up, interviews, performances and photo shoots.
